Meet Lina Rodriguez LPC #87952
Hello, my name is Lina. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in counseling from the University of North Texas in 2018. I also completed my Master’s degree in Counseling at the University of North Texas, specializing in Play Therapy in 2021. I am pursuing my Doctorate in counseling, specializing in play therapy at the University of North Texas with plans to graduate in 2026. What can I say I love UNT! I am an LPC and am working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist. I have previous experience with individual and group counseling with children 3+, teens, and adults through a non-profit agency working with survivors of domestic and sexual abuse.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the main building block towards client growth. By creating an open and safe environment, clients can feel free to communicate their emotions and experiences without fear of being rejected. I am passionate about Play Therapy and working with children. I enjoy Child-Parent Relationship therapy, improving the parent-child relationship and bringing children and their parents closer together. I conduct group play therapy, helping children build social skills and strengthen peer relationships and interactions. I believe that children are resilient and capable of growth through showing the child unconditional love and acceptance and allowing freedom for the child to express themselves on their journey towards healing fully.
